PRACTICE LOCK HOLDING FIXTURES
Some beginner and student Locksmiths
use a bench vise . . . others a pair of Vise Grips taped firmly to a work
bench. There has to be some manner in which a Practice Lock is held
firmly so the student can have the use of both hands, for lock picking
practice.
The use of a bench vise is, of course, perfectly acceptable, but not
everyone has a bench vise and those that do quite often have them out
in their garage. Not the nicest place to set up your practice sessions
(I'm assuming).
When I started this web site there was no such thing as a Practice
Lock Stand. I saw a need and filled it, offering the TriPik Stand
as far back as 2001.
Since the use of practice locks has increased exponentially over the
last few years, the need for Practice Lock Stands, or holding fixtures,
is likewise increasing. Not so many years ago you couldn't find such
a thing anywhere, even on the Internet. Lock Picker's Mall is proud
to say that we have virtually created the market for lock picking training
items such as practice lock stands, just as we have been a seminal influence
in current designs for practice locks and cut away locks.
