LOCK CYLINDER WORK STATION
Finally . . . a dedicated upright workstation for locksmiths, hobbyists, property managers and, really, anyone who works with lock cylinders of the key-in-knob, mortise and rim cylinder types -- which are of course the major cylinder varieties anyway.
Perfect for keying or rekeying locks (especially when you are working with a number of them at the same time), and equally useful for those much needed lock picking practice sessions.
This is the standard version of the stand, which accepts up to 5 KIK (key-in-knob) cylinders and up to 3 mortise or rim cylinders . . . featuring ports for not only the cylinders themselves, but also for their respective plugs. The stand is designed to prevent plugs from accidentally rotating (and thus spilling pins) by way of special tabs that mate with the bottom portion of the keyway when a 6-pin plug is inserted. You can, of course, also work with shorter 5-pin plugs, but these will not reach the tabs and thus you'll need to be careful of unintentionally allowing plugs to rotate. Our deluxe model, by the way, accommodates 5-pin and 6-pin plugs in a different manner, helping to prevent such spillage. Check that model out here.
The stand comes to you in five pieces which are super simple and super quick to assemble.
Note that this is a strong and durable stand, made entirely of 1/4" thick acrylic. It is designed to be attached to a work surface using the mounting screws provided, though we find it is fully usable free-standing when placed on a surface that has some "teeth", such as one covered with cloth or carpeting. Also included are four double-sided mounting tabs that can be used in place of screws.
You receive the stand itself and a small parts tray that fits neatly into a forward facing cutout. No tools are required to assemble this stand.
Unbeatable for these and other practices:
- Lock rekeying
- Practicing lock picking
- Lock bumping practice
- Lock cylinder repair or cleaning
