We offer key-in-knob style Cut Away Practice Locks because they are more reasonably priced than mortise cylinders and yet they are EXACTLY the same with respect to their inner workings. In fact, the huge majority of locks that a Locksmith encounters in lockout situations will be locks containing key-in-knob (KIK) type cylinders. This includes deadbolts! Very few deadbolt locks make use of mortise cylinders (in fact, Lori is the only one I can think of offhand). Key-in-knob Cut Aways are easier to rekey, too, because you don`t have to fumble with tiny screws every time you want to remove the plug.
