The 'superior' design for a lock picking practice lock holding fixture is here.  This sturdy, good-looking fixture allows unlimited positioning of the practice lock head (the TriPik - which will accommodate up to 3 practice locks at one time).  You can even lock the head into an upside-down orientation, to mimic real life conditions so often encountered on lockout calls.  Likewise, lock it sideways to approximate the position of lever hardware -- you should practice picking in this very difficult position to prepare for those nasty commercial lockouts in which you encounter Schlage or  Sargent levers, which always sport a sideways keyway

The 18-inch steel vertical post allows positioning in that plane, as well.  TriPik is the Deluxe Adjustable version, which accommodates standard, cut-away, and even commercial type lock cylinders (does NOT accept mortise cylinders). 

Stand itself is solid steel with excellent stability, so you don't have to screw this fixture to a work bench.  The rear acrylic storage bin is excellent for keeping your favorite picks and pick set, and the front bin with snap shut lid is perfect for storing tension tool, extra practice locks, etc.
