LITHIUM-ION BATTERY OPERATED PICK GUN, A true advance in lock picking tools
Electric pick guns traditionally have proprietary rechargeable batteries, making them difficult to replace if it can be done at all. A few electrics now make use of common household batteries, which does have an upside in that it is inexpensive and very easy to replace spent batteries.
But now comes the lithium age, in a world where battery technology is moving at the speed of light. For the purposes of powering an electric pick gun it seems lithium is, at least for now, an ideal source. Locksmiths now have the opportunity to take advantage of this high tech source of mobile power with the Li-Ion LEP-203 battery operated pick gun. The built-in battery has no charging memory, so you can continue to charge and discharge for years without appreciable loss of capacity. Previous battery technologies did not have this advantage.
LEP-203 = BEST OF THE BUNCH IN MY OPINION
After 30 years in the locksmith business I've had occasion to try just about every electric lock pick out there. Since trying the Li-Ion electric pick gun I can say it worked for me the best, was a joy to use, and I love the extremely fast charging.
The LEP-203 comes to you with 8 different needle picks (tips). There are 2 just for dimple locks. You also get 2 tension wrenches, a broken key extractor and a very nice foam lined zipper case. There is a 100v-240v power adapter. Power configuration on the adapter is set up for North American plug types but you can easily purchase an inexpensive adapter if you need to use the charger in other areas of the world.
You get a 6 month warranty, too.
There are a few other nice features as well, including an LED built-in light on the gun (great for working in darkened conditions), adjustable tension setting on the pick gun, and the shape itself -- which I find to be a refreshing change from other 'straight line' designs. It is designed in the shape of a pistol, similar to manual pick guns, so it lends itself to a natural grip and cuts way back on fatigue.
