In this section you will find specialized tools
used by Police and other agencies involved in the enforcement of our laws.
We have chosen to add this section after being contacted by numerous
customers asking about various tools included in this selection.
We are happy to extend special discounts to Law Enforcement agencies
for bulk purchases of any of these items. If you represent such an
agency, please contact us via email and we'll be glad to work with you.
Most of the items displayed on this page are special order items, requiring
up to 14 days, so please take this into consideration.
Tools important to Law Enforcement are featured in this part of the
LockPickersMall.com catalog.
A History of the Handcuff
We can thank W. V. Adams for patenting a design in 1862 that put old
fashioned manacles and ratchets out of business. Prior to that, metal
rings that locked into place were used for the same job. Those unfortunate
enough to find themselves bound by these early instruments doubtlessly suffered
greatly in a short period of time, as there were no adjustments and no attempt
at all was made to render them less painful.
Rope and chain also enjoyed popularity prior to Mr. Adams' patented
hinged handcuffs, but duct tape hadn't yet been invented!
Todays 'cuffs' are so well made that some of them are even comfortable
-- well, relatively so anyway. And for the ladies, pink handcuffs
(as well as other eye catching colors) are being made.
Of course Law Enforcement needs many more things than handcuffs. We
also carry a wide selection of batons.
