Now you don't have to spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars for a machine to originate domestic house keys. The Simple Key Clipper is a manual key cutter that is easy to use and very effective. There are lines inscribed on the cutting plain which can be used to gauge the depth of the cut. The tool can also be helpful when making a key by impression.

While the inscribed lines are not numbered (simply because this would be impossible due to the fact that each key manufacturer uses a numbering system distinctive to its own brand), it is quite possible to be exacting in determining proper cut depth with some practice.

This tool is not appropriate for working with automotive and miniature keyways as the angle of the cut is too wide. Use for any common household key such as Kwikset, Schlage, Weiser, Dexter, Yale, etc. etc.
