Position is very important and the very first lesson should be on how to properly hold your lock pick; if you are right-handed, hold the lockpick with your right hand and vice versa. Your other hand should be holding the padlock if you are trying to pick one, or simply holding the tension wrench. Always start with a tension wrench and later you may choose to move to a torsion wrench which gives better feedback, but is more prone to mistakes and errors as it can bend.
