BPG-15 IS A NEW TAKE ON THE PICK GUN - Kudos to Brockhage for a job well done
I can't tell you how many times during my 30 year locksmith career I wished and hoped for a tool like this. It's a fact of locksmith life that locks are often upside down. It may be part of the design of the lock (all Euro profile cylinders, for example) or it may be someone didn't read the little instruction sheet that came with their deadbolt and they installed the thing that way. It might even be that you're picking a lock on a door that, for some reason, not standing on the right end.
Whatever the reason, picking locks in this position presents difficulties for the locksmith. We just aren't used to it. 99% of the locks we encounter are 'rightside up' so our entire skill set gets built upon this position. Not enough of us practice with locks that upside down.
Brockhage's newest manual pick gun is a simple solution. I'm amazed no one thought of this before. The business end of the pick gun has been installed, you guessed it, upside down and the needle therefore reverses direction from the standard model. It strikes downward, not upward. So to pick an upside down lock you no longer have to stand on your head.
The beauty of it is that it does work. And add to that the fact that BPG-15 has a Lifetime Warranty (caps on purpose, this is important) makes it all the better. BUY ONE. You may not use it often, but when you need it you really need it.
It comes with 2 pick needles and 1 tension tool.
