BBH-2 "Flex Plus" Bump Hammer from Brockhage
Whether to use a standard flex bump hammer or a more flexible one . . . that is the question. It comes down to what you get used to, really. If you practice strictly with a semi-rigid hammer you'll likely end up preferring that one. I don't think there is a formula for determining which hammer gives the best overall results. It might come down to what personality type you are. If you are someone who tends to over do the physical aspect of lockpicking (you are more likely to break picks than maybe someone else - or you are always fighting the urge to use too much tension on your tension wrench), then maybe you should go with a flexible model because it will absorb some of that testerone-induced over cooking. Rapping locks open by the bump key approach does take some umfff, but not TOO much.
